Foundations of Capability
Instructor: Sharonlyne KCSFV Graves
Foundations of Capability is a 2-day introductory course in which attendees will use a set of learning objectives and “real world” exercises to gain an understanding of the CMMI model and the business value that it provides. At the conclusion of this course, the attendee will be prepared to pass the CMMI Associate exam and to take one or both of the Building Excellence courses. This course is conducted virtually via Zoom and all attendees must have audio and video capability for the duration of the class.

Building Service Excellence

Building Service Excellence is a 1-day course that follows the prerequisite Foundations of Capability course. This is an introductory course that provides an overview of the services practices of the model. Attendees will use a set of learning objectives and “real world” exercises to gain an understanding of the services view and the business value that it provides. This course is conducted virtually via Zoom and all attendees must have audio and video capability for the duration of the class.

Building Development Excellence

This 1-day course is designed to be taken after the Foundations of Capability course is completed. In this 1-day class, participants will use the CMMI Development view to understand how to build an organization’s capability in engineering and delivering products. In addition, participants will learn how to use the CMMI Development view of the model in order to effectively assess, improve, and sustain process capability and performance. Building Organizational Capability

The Build Organizational Capability course, taught by W.R. Systems, Ltd., an Engineering Services Company, with over 15 years of experience using CMMI in real world applications, provides a detailed overview of the concepts contained in CMMI and the business value that this model provides organizations. In this course students will learn how to connect the CMMI® model with business value, describe the components of CMMI - including all eight domains and learn how they can use the CMMI model for improving their organization’s performance. Upon completion of the course, the students will have the requisite knowledge to pass the Certified CMMI Practitioner Exam. When passed, the student becomes an eligible CMMI appraisal team for any of the eight CMMI Domains. It serves as a prerequisite for taking more advanced CMMI courses. This course comes with one free attempt at the Certified CMMI Practitioner Exam.
