Can the CMMI and DMM be mapped into a unified model thus providing greater insight and management of both? The release of CMMI V2 uses the same framework as the DMM which will enable the analysis. The process focus of the CMMI model and the data focus of the DMM model will be reviewed. The possible linkages between the two models will be examined. The mapping of few practice areas will be explored that could strengthen both models. It seems logical that a unified model of the CMMI and DMM is the next logical step or is it? Are the CMMI and DMM destined to be two sides of the same coined forever? This presentation concludes with talking points from both perspectives.
