Capacity Management: Statistical Modeling

Conference Track: Using Quantitative Techniques to Improve Performance

CAM is one of the process areas in CMMI SVC that helps project to manage the demand and ensure that they are able to deliver higher value with optimal resource utilization. In most Maintenance and Testing projects, it is key for teams to be able to manage the availability and capacity KPIs. Managing these requires a strong view of the future demands and the requirements to meet these demands. Models developed using various forecasting techniques and past performance baselines are helping project managers at Mindtree to accurately predict the future demands and the effort required to supply the demands, thereby helping the teams to be capable of achieving the capacity and availability targets.
